For projects where temperature control matters, a thermally broken steel system adds an insulating barrier between the interior and exterior portions of the frame. This helps reduce heat transfer through the steel and improves the overall thermal performance of the door.

It can be especially useful in hot climates, cold climates, and areas with significant temperature changes throughout the year. The result is a more comfortable interior and a better-performing door without giving up the slim steel profile.

We finish in TIGER Drylac architectural powder coating. It is applied dry and cured in an oven, so the coating cross-links into a single hard thermoset shell bonded to the steel rather than a paint film sitting on the surface. There is no solvent to flash off and no seam for moisture to work under.

The architectural-grade series are built for exterior exposure: they hold color and gloss against UV, resist chalking, salt spray, and cleaning chemicals, and stay flexible enough not to chip at edges and corners. On a properly prepared and coated door that means a finish measured in decades — the architectural series carry long-term exterior performance ratings in the 25-year range rather than the few years typical of a wet-painted door.

Final performance depends on color, gloss, exposure, and maintenance. Coastal and high-UV sites are specified accordingly.

Hardware options can be selected based on the door configuration and application.

We use premium hardware in solid brass — levers, pulls, and hinges machined from solid stock rather than plated zinc or hollow castings, so the weight and finish hold up to daily use and wear in rather than flaking off.
