Open Up
the Entire Wall.

Not just another patio door.

When closed, a bi-fold door frames the view. When open, it folds neatly to the side — dissolving the boundary between indoors and out. Designed for expansive openings, it creates one uninterrupted connection between architecture, landscape, and the people inside.

Why Bi-Fold

Everything. Out of the way.

Unlike sliding doors that always leave one panel fixed, bi-fold doors stack almost completely clear of the opening. The result is a true wall opening that transforms patios, entertaining spaces, and interior rooms into one continuous environment.

Whether opening onto a terrace or dividing interior living spaces, the architecture becomes more flexible with every panel folded away.

01

Maximum opening

Panels fold neatly to one or both sides, creating a wide, unobstructed passage where a wall once stood.

02

Indoor–outdoor living

Blur the transition between the home and the landscape — the room and the terrace become a single space.

03

Natural light

Floor-to-ceiling glazing keeps interiors bright and open even when the doors are closed.

04

Custom configurations

Built around your exact opening, with multiple panel layouts and stacking options engineered to fit.

Applications

Where they belong.

A bi-fold door earns its place wherever a wall should be able to disappear — opening the home to the landscape, and dividing interior rooms into spaces that flex with the moment.

Configuration Guide

Built around your opening.

Every project is fabricated specifically for its opening. Panel count, stacking direction, and swing are all set to the wall. Gold marks the primary access leaf and the direction panels stack. Representative only.

Two & Three Panel
The most compact folding runs — ideal for standard openings and single-room walls.
Four Panel
A wide run that folds in pairs, opening the majority of the wall to the outside.
Five & Six Panel
For expansive openings — multiple connected panels span the widest walls we build.
Side Stacking
All panels fold and stack against one jamb, clearing the opening to a single edge.
Center Opening
Panels split evenly from the middle and stack to both sides — a symmetrical clear span.
Inward & Outward
Fold inward to keep terraces clear, or outward to protect interior space — your choice.

The final configuration depends on opening width, panel weight, hardware, and project requirements.

Materials & Performance

Beauty that still performs.

Every BlackFramed bi-fold door is fabricated using original European steel profile systems, selected for exceptional rigidity, slim sightlines, and long-term durability — because a folding wall carries its weight on moving hinges, the steel behind it matters most.

  • Interior steel systems for partitions
  • Slim sightlines with structural rigidity
Glazing

Insulated & Low-E

  • Low-E insulated glazing units
  • Clear, tinted, laminated, or acoustic glass

Common Questions

Answered.

Yes. Thermally broken profile systems are designed for exterior applications where weather performance and energy efficiency are required. Interior partition runs, which have no thermal requirement, can use our slimmer steel.
Bi-fold doors can span large openings using multiple connected panels. The maximum configuration depends on the selected profile system and engineering requirements — panel weight, hardware capacity, and the wall itself all factor into how wide we can go.
Yes. Both inward- and outward-folding configurations are available depending on the project — fold outward to keep interior space clear, or inward to protect a terrace.
Not necessarily. Doors can stack to one side or split evenly from the center depending on the desired configuration. We set the stacking direction to your opening and how you use the space.
Every BlackFramed bi-fold door is fabricated specifically for your opening, finish, hardware selection, and glazing requirements — confirmed on approved shop drawings before anything is cut.
