Insulated Glass Units
Two panes, one sealed cavity.
Most exterior BlackFramed systems use double-glazed insulated glass units — two panes of glass separated by a sealed cavity of air or argon gas. That trapped layer is what does the insulating work.

Low-E Glass
A microscopically thin metallic coating reflects heat while letting daylight through — cooler in summer, warmer in winter, with reduced UV fading.
